| Our Lady
of Libera School stands as a beacon of Christian
commitment, to the values and teachings
of Jesus Christ in the city of West New
York and its surrounding communities. We
are steeped in the tradition of Catholic
Faith and firmly believe that Jesus Christ
was born, suffered and died and rose to
new life. Therefore, conscious of multicultural
backgrounds of our students, we strive to
enflesh the Word of God so that its meaning
is alive and vibrant to all in our school
and parish community. We strive to maintain
a loving atmosphere where all are assured
of God's love for us and where Christian
values are learned and lived daily.
We recognize the parents
as the child's primary teachers and we commit
ourselves to build on this foundation. To
assist the spiritual development of our
students, we encourage the faculty and staff
to be role models living according to the
Good News of Jesus Christ. Our faculty and
administration strive to "teach as
Jesus did" and hold fast to His teachings
as a way of life. Thus, by example, guiding
and preparing your Christian witnesses to
meet the challenge of their world. |

| As
a center of leaning, Our Lady of Libera
School stresses academic excellence. The
faculty and administration provide quality
education of each child. It is our mission
to provide an environment that meets the
needs of every child assisting each one
to develop and use his/her God-given abilities.
We seek to encourage our students' natural
curiousity and instill in them a love for
learning by ensuring optimal and varied
learning experiences. These experiences
range from acquiring and mastering basic
skills, to applying higher level thinking
skills and solving problems. We believe
we must continue to challenge those students
who are prepared to move on, and to prod
and encourage those who need additional
time and assistance to master the skills
needed to make progress.
the curriculum at Our Lady
of Libera School comprises all basic subject
areas as well as a variety of enrichment
courses. Curriculum guidelines issued from
the Newark Archdiocesan Superintendent's
office, are useful to provide direction
in curriculum development. The administration
and faculty assume the responsibility of
reviewing and modifying curriculum at regular
intervals to meet the changing needs of
our students. We believe that knowledge
is acquired cumulatively, and thus we provide
the opportunity for our students to build
on previously learned skills and information,
which become the stepping-stones to higher
levels of learning. |
|
As
a Catholic educators, we strive to teach as Jesus
did and to model qualities of mildness and meekness
joined to firmness and good will to guide the
child's growth and development. We nurture the
child in a religious and academic setting and
foster a cooperative relationship with parents
in order to enhance our ability to respond to
the needs of each child. We consider ourselves
priviliged to be entrusted with the care of God's
little ones and will continue to work diligently
to earn the confidence and respect of the children
we teach.
Our mission is to minister to
the people of God in its most beautiful form --
the child. The entire school and parish community
at Our Lady of Libera School are dedicated to
provide a strong spiritual, moral and educational
development within an atmosphere of Christian
community and brotherhood. We are prepared to
face this challenge, and are committed to keep
our beacon light shining. We strive to make our
corner of the world a better place for all.
